Hi Ajay, First of all I want to congratulate you for resuming your blog. The topic you choose is quite debatable but in my opinion, X should follow his passion for painting rather than becoming a social worker. My opinion is based on the following facts.
As you mentioned X is a talented artist and he is passionate about painting that is his ultimate passion. Passion is when one indulges himself and he is totally in it, no matter what is happening around him and that is giving him the ultimate pleasure and he find himself so deep into it. Painting is what he has imbibed over the years and nurtured to become his passion.
On the other hand he is a natural/ born leader he can win fame due to recognition in the society but I think that will not give an eternal pleasure simply because he is not doing something which is actually giving him pleasure. Leader is his natural tendency /quality to contribute for society but it is not something which is giving him, the pleasure and may be over the course of time he might lose of interest in what he is doing as a social worker.
Thanks Ashish! I completely agree with you and I certainly don’t hope to find a single answer of this question. The question occurred to me when I was reading about what is called the midlife crisis. Sometimes people in their middle years realize that their life has been a complete waste and now they don’t have youthfulness and energy to make significant changes in it.
